8 proven ideas to improve your French

Are you part of the “I don’t know what to do to improve my French” team?

I know it’s not easy to know what to do to progress in French because there are so many things to learn, so many things you could focus on, that it quickly becomes overwhelming and messy in your head.

And that’s exactly why I’m here.

8 actions that can really make a difference

Today, I want to share with you 8 actions that can really make a difference so that you can choose one, try it, and see what happens✨.

I selected these actions based on what I’ve experienced with my clients, 8 actions that have been effective and transformative :

-1-📚Read in French

-2-💬Speak to yourself in French (speak alone & out loud)

-3-✍️Write down expressions you discover when you’re exposed to French, and try to reuse them in personal examples

-4-📋Make a list of words you know you don’t say well in French.

Look up their translation, and create personal examples (for example: “busy”, “confused”, “about”…)

-5-🆕Learn something new (grammar related).

Let go of the passé composé and imparfait you’ve been working on for years, and explore a new tense or new sentence structure you’ve never studied before. This will give you a real feeling of satisfaction and progress. Some ideas :  conditionnel présent or passé, futur antérieur, plus que parfait (how to build it / use it), discours indirect dans le passé, hypothèse dans le présent …

-6-👂Do active listening:

Listen to French with a clear intention (for example : note vocabulary related to the topic, note the verbs, observe the tenses used, write a summary of what you heard)

-7-👂+👁️Combine listening and reading (with subtitles or lyrics of songs)

-8-🗨️Read out loud in French

I invite you to choose one of these actions and give it a try.

Comment below and tell which action you’ve chosen to try this week, I’ll be your cheerleader!
